About Jayson Thoemke
Jayson Thoemke, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP an Annapolis Architect and founder of Thoemke Architecture, LLC with over 30 years of experience as an architect and project manager. Jayson held the position of principal and vice president of Colimore Clarke Associates for 10 of his 17 years with CCA. There, he developed his skills as an architect, starting as an intern and working his way up to principal in 7 years. For 4 years, Jayson served as senior architect and design manager for the Johns Hopkins Hospital where he oversaw planning, design, and construction of hospital facilities. Jayson managed K thru 12 projects with Gaudreau, Inc. as a senior associate for 4 years, overseeing their education projects. Jayson returned to Colimore Thoemke Architects, Inc to serve as principal and vice president. For 5 years as principal-in-charge at CTA, Jayson administrated two thirds of the firm’s workload, with a concentration in the education, municipal, research lab and medical markets.
Jayson’s extensive experience encompasses commercial and institutional projects ranging in size and complexity from relatively simple renovations and additions to complex multifaceted phased renovations in occupied settings. He has served as project designer and project manager for facilities ranging up to $75 million in construction costs, including renovations, adaptive reuse, additions and new construction projects.
Jayson has the depth of experience and thorough understanding of the design and construction process to provide outstanding leadership. He is an experienced designer of educational facilities, having worked on numerous public and private schools, with projects ranging from new construction and major additions to renovations and ADA modifications.
Jayson has a unique understanding of owners’ needs, shaped by the knowledge gained while practicing with Johns Hopkins Hospital. As the in-house senior architect, he developed a sensitivity to the needs of the institution, as well as the wants of the clients, while balancing the limitations of the budget.
Awards and Recognition
Jayson is a published and award-winning designer, recognized for his design excellence by the Chesapeake Bay Chapter and the Potomac Valley Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and Anne Arundel County.
